At least 75% of domestic places will be offered to Tasmanians for the Hobart Campus intake only. This is defined as:

  • School leaver applicants who have completed a Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE) or International Baccalaureate (IB) at a Tasmanian High School or Secondary College within 5 years of the course commencement date. 
  • Current resident in Tasmania.

The Bachelor of Medical Research with Honours enhances career opportunities and is the usual prerequisite for further study for a higher degree by research such as the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

Career opportunities

Graduating with a Bachelor of Paramedicine will enable you to become a registered paramedic with national agencies such as Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Working across a range of complex, dynamic, and sometimes extreme environments, graduates find employment in areas such as:
