At least 75% of domestic places will be offered to Tasmanians for the Hobart Campus intake only. This is defined as:
- School leaver applicants who have completed a Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE) or International Baccalaureate (IB) at a Tasmanian High School or Secondary College within 5 years of the course commencement date.
- Current resident in Tasmania.

The Bachelor of Medical Research with Honours enhances career opportunities and is the usual prerequisite for further study for a higher degree by research such as the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

Advance your opportunities
Pathway for Military Medics with the Australian Defence Force
We have designed a specific conversion program for existing military medics currently employed within the Australian Defence Force. The Conversion Pathway (ADF) is a streamlined process for a qualified practicing military medic to progress into a bachelor’s degree with up to 137.50 credit points (11 units) of advanced standing.
As practicing military medics, you are not required to undertake professional experience placement.
Conversion Pathway for Practising Paramedics
We offer a conversion pathway for diploma qualified registered paramedics, with completed study (to a required standard) considered, as an entry requirement to the bachelor’s degree.
Both programs are available part time and are designed to let you study from anywhere while balancing your life and work commitments. Students studying this pathway may choose to complete over a longer timeframe, however, must provide evidence of current employment as either a military medic or registered paramedic, provided they finish within 5 years of commencement.

Career opportunities
Graduating with a Bachelor of Paramedicine will enable you to become a registered paramedic with national agencies such as Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
