About this short course

What you will learn

Upon completion of Stream 1, you will:

  1. Understand the roles and responsibilities of community service boards and board members
  2. Have awareness of the motivations and benefits of serving on a community board
  3. Know how to be an effective board member

Upon completion of Stream 2, you will:

  1. Be able to identify skills gaps in your board and develop strategies for effective recruitment and retention of board members
  2. Have knowledge, tools and resources for improving the structures and processes of your board(s)
  3. Know how to create and maintain a supportive board environment
