Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy

The equipment comprises a Bruker Avance III HD 600 MHz spectrometer equipped for solution-state spectroscopy applications.

The spectrometer has a narrow bore, actively shielded magnet with a 5mm BBFO probe tuneable to a broad range of NMR-observable nuclei. There is an automated sample chamber with temperature regulation offering 24 sample spaces for 24/7 operation in queue mode.

Common applications and support are available for the following across Chemical, Biological and Medical Sciences:

  • Characterisation of synthetic and natural products
  • Measurement of diffusion rates in polymers and novel solvent systems
  • High and low temperature (-80C – 150C) analysis of reactions and fluxional systems
  • Analysis of complex biological mixtures for metabolomic profiling
  • Characterisation of peptides and proteins and ligand interactions
  • Quantitative characterisation of mixtures and pure compounds
